1st Saturday of sale
The first Saturday of our sale went terrific and 14 items sold. So...got to get out & get more. Just picked up another used bookcase ($25), a sturdy kitchen table, leaf & 4 chairs (made in Yugoslavia), a teak shelving unit (several pieces that fit on brackets), a French provincial sofa with satin fabric and a footstool.

walnut entertainment center
Hi, got a couple of new things in that I think are pretty special. Got a solid walnut entertainment center, clearly a hand crafted piece of furniture, that's amazing. I didn't know folks could afford to build out of solid walnut. The materials alone must have cost a fortune. This one is priced at $500.
Probably the same builder, but got a used futon in too. Solid oak frame with clear fir as the cross-slats on the back. Very nicely constructed, very solid and only $150.

new chairs, used leather

Darn, I didn't get the ottoman seen below, it has been backordered but I did get a couple of the brown chairs you'll see in the photo here. Very cool design and at $250 each, very reasonable for upholstered furniture.
Also got a nice mission style sofa in a forest green leather ($300) and a matching recliner ($225). Both used but in great condition.

sale & new items

Heck, now that I've started there's so much to tell...
First, we have a sale coming up. Between 2/15/08 and 3/15/08, there will be 10%-50% off selected items in the store. I don't think we've ever had a sales event as big as this one!
Second, just got in a couple more used sofas this week. There's a very nice Bauhaus sofa (with matching ottoman) in a maroon color. Nice piece, contemporary style and I like the way the Bauhaus uses springs on the back which makes it more comfortable to sit in.
Third, I just picked up a several new pieces from Emerald Home Furnishings. One of the cooler pieces is ottoman pictured. Leather, with a sleeper built inside, on locking wheels (so it easy to move) and the top folds to make a headboard for the bed. Very cool.
Lastly, I just sent off 3 more articles for the Olympian, so they'll be showing up every other week in the Home & Garden section on Saturday.
Whew! Now I can go to dinner....
New Blog
Everybody seems to love blogging and there are oodles of them around. I've been a little hesitant to start one, concerned that I won't be able to keep it timely and relevant. On the other hand, every day brings something new to Furniture Works, so here's my opportunity to keep you up to date with the daily changes. Hope you like it. You'll have the opportunity (I think...I'm new at this) to leave comments but remember you can always email me directly at ken@olyfurnitureworks.com if you have questions, comments or suggestions. Thanks for reading...
