Lighter fluid will clean stubborn stains from porcelain sinks and bathtubs. Kerosene can remove rust stains from tile. Remember they’re both flammable (and bad for septic tanks).

Marble, although stone, is porous. Clean it with a damp chamois to avoid streaks and wax it with a clear wax once a year. Use coasters under glasses.

Teflon pans should not be heated above 450 degrees. At that temperature, it begins to emit the fluorocarbons into the air.
